What is Needle Felting?
I work in a process called needle felting. I start with core wool roving and repeatedly stab the wool using barbed needles to sculpt the wool into shapes to form sculptures. Colored wool is then added using the same process to add color and details to the sculpture to bring it to life.
I use the same process for 2-dimensional work with colored wool but rather than forming 3D sculptures, I stab the loose wool onto a background piece of wool fabric to create my 2-dimensional wall hangings and balsam sachets.
